Master of Arts – Journalism and Communication (Shift 1)


A Unique Learning Experience for the Holistic Development of Women, Shri S S Shasun Jain College for Women started the post graduate degree in Journalism and Communication in 2017.

The USP of the Department is the judicious blend of theory and practice beyond classrooms. The industry needs are identified and fulfilled with the required academic rigor that is complemented with field trips, lectures from experts, workshops, seminars, exhibitions and media fests. The infrastructure at Shasun is world class with the latest animation and editing software. The faculty is ever willing to unlearn and learn.

The two year program aims to create smart ethical media professionals who would revolutionize and redefine Journalism today. The program spans across print, broadcast and new media along with advertising to enable them step into a field of their choice. Various MOUs facilitate hands on learning and the multifarious projects and practical sessions sharpen the skills of the budding Journalists.

Programme Specific Outcome


PSO1 Acquires both theoretical and practical knowledge in the research field.
PSO2 Know about advanced knowledge of various elements of computers which include technical and detailed study of computing and its applications. The course is aimed to explore various research avenues and provide professional attributes to the students.
PSO3 Acquires strong research expertise in recent trends like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.
PSO4 Able to take up a career of teaching.
PSO5 Updates knowledge on research methods, techniques and the process and to develop skills in the application of research methods for problem solving.
