Bachelor of Science – Home Science Interior Design and Decor (Shift 2)


The department focuses to equip students with Interior Design skills like technical drawing, space design, material knowledge, furniture design, and familiarization with interior design tools. Interior design is an artful science which can enhance the aesthetics and create healthier living environments for the clients/end users. The professional scope of an interior designer is huge in India and backed with a flair for innovative thinking and designing that one can reach a pinnacle in this field. The various design software’s available such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, 3D modeling can help the designer to create vision and ideas into virtual creations and to be artistic, analytical, people oriented and business oriented.

Programme Specific Outcome

PSO1 Possess the theoretical knowledge of basic design and decoration principles.
PSO2 Plan and design indoor spaces using colors, materials, space and lighting. Gain an understanding of human behavior, design theory and professional practices.
PSO3 Apply critical thinking to solve interior environmental problems from a human centered approach and gets acquainted with the knowledge about the interiors.
PSO4 Transform innovative ideas into virtual creations and to be Artistic, Analytical, people oriented and business oriented using AutoCAD, Sketch up and 3D modeling.
PSO5 Analyze the local and global impact in interior design and décor and apply the latest technology for designing.
